The Death Cure - Text to all

The Death Cure - Text to All

A post apocalyptic is a world I think most people wouldn't want to be fighting in. "The Death Cure", by James Dashner takes place in a disease filled planet where the only way you can survive is by being immune to the disease just like Thomas, the main character. Thomas and his friends are the only few immunes left alive the disease, the flare, is a disease that controls peoples bodies and makes them go insane. WICKED, World in Catastrophe: Killzone Experiment Department, is trying to kidnap Thomas and build a blueprint for the cure to the flare. Thomas continues to lose countless friends due to bounty hunters set out to capture Thomas. Thomas is doing whatever he can to stop WICKED, even if he has to lose his friends in the process.
The Death Cure can be closely related to the book Daniel X, by James Patterson. In this book Daniel´s planet is infested with alien spies trying to destroy the human race. These books are related because there is something trying to destroy the human race. Daniel X and Thomas are the main characters in each of these book and their both trying to save the human race. Both of their parents died when they were young so Daniel and Thomas grew up around friends.
In the Death Cure a disease is spreading that´s killing off the population. In the book there is a disease being carried around named the Flare. This is related to the black plague in real life that wiped out a lot of the population. The black plague, or the bubonic plague, started in the mid 1300's and killed over 25 million people. In the Death Cure the flare has been turning normal people into cranks, most people with the flare end up dying or committing suicide. There is no cure for either of these diseases when they first showed up.
When you have the flare disease in the book you become crazy and out of control. It almost makes you into a zombie where you have no control over yourself. I can kind of relate to this because everybody has those moments where they have a mental breakdown and go crazy. Although it's not as extreme as getting the flare. It's just how normal human emotions work, when you get worked up over something you go crazy. The flare is extremely contagious, but when you have mental breakdowns other people won't go crazy from you.
In all, The Death Cure was a great book. I wish we had a little bit more background information about other peoples lives and how people survived in the wild. After the breakdown of most cities people either got the flare and turned into a crank, or you took refuge with other survivors. If you were immune you would've had to turn yourself in to WICKED where they tested you. I wish Thomas didn't turn himself in and tried to survive in the wild where you could avoid cranks and stay immune to the flare. Although Thomas wouldn't have met any of his friends that you has now.
