Crookedstar's Promise - Text To All

Do you like cats? Or more specifically, cats with broken jaws that train with evil cats in their sleep? Well then you're in luck because Crookedstar's Promise, by Erin Hunter is just that! The book begins with Riverclan, escaping their camp because a flood is destroying everything. After making it out Rainfur decides this is the perfect time to have her children, during a storm, while cats are dying. She ends up having two beautiful sons, Stormkit and Oakkit. Appropriately named due to the circumstances they were born in. It time skips a few months to where Stormkit and Oakkit are annoying little pieces of mouse-dung (Please excuse my bad language), they decide they want to go hop across these very originally named stones called The Stepping Stones. After landing on the other side, a crazy cat named Goosefeather starts to chase him. His feet then realize they don't want to work anymore and he face plants into a rock. When he finally gains consciousness, everyone looks at him strangely, his mother won't even look at him. Stormkit being the curious little cat he is looks at his reflection seeing that his jaw is broken and can't be fixed. His mother disowns him and convinces the leader to change his name to Crookedkit. He gets all angsty and runs away to find the moonstone so he can see his destiny. While taking a short nap, he gets visited by a cat named Mapleshade (I know her backstory because I read it, Crookedkit is stupid and thinks she's a good cat) she tells him that he can be a great warriors. Some boring stuff happens and Crookedkit finally realizes he has a purpose in life. He runs back to his clan where he made an apprentice. Crookedkit now Crookedpaw starts to train with Mapleshade so he can be ultimate warrior. He chases a dog out and becomes a warrior. Then a lot of people die and he falls in love, and yeah.... that's the whole book in a nutshell.

I can connect this book to the world because it connects to the fact that everyone cares about their looks nowadays. In the book Crookedstar was resented for having his broken jaw. I mean his mother disowned him because he looked ugly! But over time people started to like him for the way he acts not the way he looks. I think that the world should be more like that, instead of the way they are now wanting everyone to be perfect and look the same.

For my final thoughts, I just want to say.... MAPLESHADE WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU! Mapleshade is a character that appears frequently throughout the book. She mentors and pretty much does everything with Crookedstar. The first thing that she did didn't make me that mad I was sort of glad about it because the cat she convinced Crookedstar to kill was a jerk. But then she had to go out of her way to kill his mate and two out of the three kits he had! WHAT THE ACTUAL HECK IS WRONG WITH YOU! Yes, I understand she was mad but COME ON. In conclusion, Mapleshade is a lying jerk.
